Myths built around it, the facts, the story and all things unsaid. This is about Dasavatharam, no fuss, no nonsense eagerly waiting for 6th June. Kollywood is full of legends. Celluloid giants like Oscar Ravichandran can make dreams come true. Maybe reality bites, but this is the truth. A man of great courage who can make things really happen.
Oscar Films’ prestigious project ‘Dasavatharam’ in which Kamal Haasan is playing 10 different avatars is scheduled to be released on June 6. The film has been generating much hype in the Indian film circles. The main avatar of Kamal in this film are of American President George Bush, Temple priest,8 feet tall man a black union leader and 3 feet 90 year old granny.
Producer Ravichandran felt that it would give an extra boost if the American President George Bush views the movie since Kamal has enacted as Bush. This will also add to the publicity of the film. Louisiana Governor who is also an Indian by origin has been approached in this regard. The Governor will liaison with the White House. The trailer and other details of Dasavatharam has already been handed over to the Governor. A separate print of Dasavatharam along with English sub title is being sent to America for the special screening to the American President.
Similarly another print with English sub title is being sent to Hollywood Actor Jackie Chan. The 70-crore budget film will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil with 1,000 odd prints, the highest number of prints the Tamil industry has never seen thus far. Directed by KS Ravi Kumar, the music of the film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya. Telugu composer Devi Sri Prasad has done the film’s re-recording. The more exciting thing about the movie is that its story, dialogues and screenplay have been provided by Kamal Haasan.
Asin will be seen in the lead role, whereas Mallika Sherawat is going spice it up with her hot sequences. Ravi Varma is the cinematographer. Thota Tharani, Sameer Chanda and Prabhakaran are the art directors. Thangachalam is the editor. Thiagarajan and Kanal Kannan are the fight masters.
Sathyabama a block buster film in Telugu is being dubbed in Tamil under the title Anandam Aiyiram. This romantic film is based on sentiments of happiness and sorrows. New face Shiva is debuting in this film as the hero while Bhoomika is pairing with him.
Film Institute student Nanu Sri Hari is directing this film. He has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. This Tamil dubbed version is being made by Chitirai Sevan under the banner Rangeela Enterprises. This film will be a wonderful experience for young lovers. This film was shot is Hyderbad, Goa and Nepal.
Kaliyuga Ganapathy is a title of the film produced by Thirumudi Creations. Ashok Thirumudi is doing the lead role apart from directing this film. He is also taking care of the story, screenplay and dialogues of this film. Lakshana and Leena are new faces doing the female lead roles. Radha Ravi, Alex, Manobala,Balu Anand and Veneer Adai Moorthy are also starring in this movie. The story revolves around a youth who wants more in life e then the basic needs such as air, food, water, clothing and shelter. So he goes to Lord Ganesa and asks for more luxurious things in life. But Ganesa advices him to be content with what he has and live a happy life.
But the youth goes on pestering the Lord Ganesa. With no other alternative Ganesa heeds to his prayer and gives all that he asks. The hero gets all the luxury in the life but he loses all his happiness and gets depressed. So once again he goes to Lord Ganesa and pleads for his earlier simple life. Whether wish is is granted forms the crux of the movie. The camera is being handled by Rajarajan while a new Music Director Dhamodaran Namboodri is making his debut in this film. This film shooting is progressing in Chennai and later it will be shot in Pillayarpatti, Pondicherry and Kerala.
Paruthiveeran hero Karthi had celebrated his birthday in a different way with his fans. He took part in several programmes aimed at improving the lives of the poor. He has launched a welfare association called Makkal Nala Manram with the support of his fans. , he distributed satchels to children, sewing machines to the poor and tricycles to physically challenged persons.
His fans from various parts of the city had gathered at Sir Pitti Thyagaraya hall in T. Nagar for the occasion. Mr. Karthi said he was following in his father’s and brother’s footsteps. His father has launched the Sivakumar Trust and his brother, the Agaram Foundation. At the YRG Care Centre in Taramani, he donated a cheque of Rupees Fifty thousand for treatment of children with HIV/AIDS.
