Gowtham Vasudev Menon, not just a good director, but a finest entrepreneur when it comes to distribution of his films. ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ that was slated to hit the screens on the occasion of Diwali didn’t do so and what could have been the reasons? For everyone’s knowledge, it was a known fact that none of the distributors came forward in getting distribution rights of the film due to high rates. In Kerala, none of the distributors and exhibitors came forward to take the film, since Mollywood’s magnum opus ‘Twenty-20′ starring almost all the leading actors will be hitting screens tomorrow.
In Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu version ‘Surya s/o Krishna’ wasn’t taken by distributors have high quoted rates. With Azhagiri and his son Dayanidhi getting into this project, things have been settled down and plans are to release the film successfully on November 14, since by that time many theatres would have cleared off with ‘Aegan’ and ‘Sevval’.
These bigwigs of Kollywood happened to watch the preview and exclusive shows and they were more fascinated by Ajith Kumar’s performance. Rajnikanth and Vijay hadn’t watched a film together for a long time and ‘Aegan’ was the best occasion. Both of them were invited by ‘London’ Karunaas of Ayngaran Films at Four Frames Preview Theatre on Friday evening. Since, Karunaas produces both the films of Rajnikanth’s ‘Endhiran’ and Vijay’s ‘Villu’; they were there for his gracious occasion.
Similarly, Gowtham Menon was there at the first day first show at Satyam Cinemas along with his friend Silambarasan. Gowtham who had watched the film was satisfied with Ajith’s performance while Simbhu was there at the peaks of excitements since he was a sole fan of Thala.
Nayanthara usually keeps it a point that she would be watching all her movies in the theatres that are centered for great masses. So, for ‘Aegan’ she could get straight into the box of Albert Theatre for Saturday Night Show. She had lots of expectations that audiences would show their grand round of applause for her alluring costumes. But merely, it was a great disappointment for her to hear all the audiences yelling, why she is brimmed up with a mediocre performance. “She doesn’t to act, but all that she knows is appearing in such kind of nasty costumes for no reason” said one among the crowd and that had really dashed down her hopes.
Nayanthara who believed that her glamorous looks would get her to the highest peaks had failed her in biggies like ‘Satyam’, ‘Kuselan’ and now ‘Aegan’.
Nothing has been confirmed till the date, but the latest buzzes say so about it. Yup! the sensational celebrities in Kollywood Vishal and Selvaraghavan are expected to join hands for a big budget project to be produced by Ramesh of Kanagarathna Movies. Vishal who feels to be more desolate with his Satyam flunking miserably at the box office had stated his next forthcoming project is somewhat gonna be directed by a debutant Ayyappan for the film titled ‘Thoranam’. But, during the festive occasion of Diwali, sources from all these three sides have uttered that Selvaraghavan, Vishal and Producer Ramesh had met for a discussion for the untitled project and shooting would hit the floors in the month of January.
Much before that, Selvaraghavan would have to complete shooting for his present project ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ starring Paruthiveeran fame Karthi, Andrea, Reema Sen and Parthiban in lead roles.
“Kanchivaram has offered me resurgence in my inner self and I unlearned every experience of mine throughout the entire career after working for this film” said Prakash Raj who is so elated about the film getting nominated for 39th Goa International Film Festival. Other films that would be contending along with ‘Kanchivaram’ are Balaji Sakthivel’s ‘Kalloori’, ‘Mudhal Mudhal Mudhal Varai’. Other films are off Tripura and a Marathi film.
Kanchivaram is about a silk weaver who steals bit and piece of this material for weaving a silk saree for his daughter’s marriage. The simple storyline has been blended with the backdrops of Communism in the pre-independence era.
Prakash Raj performs the role of Venkatam and Shreya Reddy as his wife while debutant Shamu takes on the role of their daughter. Priyadarshan has directed and produced the film and is expected to be released during the mid-of-December.
‘What’s next?’ the most favorite word of Aamir Khan for he uses it very often in his promotion of ‘Samsung products’. Of course, the same line applies for his forthcoming flick ‘Ghajini’ directed by A.R. Murugadoss. Prior to its release, couple of first look promo pictures raised high expectations and now comes the visual promo. The teaser of 60secs is about Aamir Khan exposed as young charming as well with shaved head shattering down the baddies. Nothing more than this has been displayed over there… Indeed, Aamir Khan overbeats Surya in Tamil version of Ghajini.
With couple of scenes being reshot there in Mumbai, producers of the film have confirmed that film would be releasing for the occasion of Christmas on December 25. With Asin playing the female lead role, characterization of what Nayanthara did would be donned by Jiah Khan. With his latest musical score ‘Yuvvraaj’ making high waves there in audio markets, lots of expectations are on Rahman’s work of Ghajini.
