Maargazhi Raagam will be the first ever carnatic concert produced for cinema. This would mark the beginning of this year’s music season in Chennai with its release on 18 December. The trailor of the film screened amongst a selective audience at Sathyam Theatre was an instant hit. The 110 minute concert features two of the leading carnatic musicians, TM Krishna and Bombay Jayashri was conceptualized and directed by Jayendra Panchapakesan, founder director of Real Image Media Technologies.

TM Krishna and Bombay Jayshree who had the first hand experience of performing a complete carnatic concert with seven high resolution Red cameras making robotic movements all around them, are grateful for having been given the chance to take carnatic music to a new stage. The film would be released at Sathyam Theatres on 18 December and talks with multiplexes are on to release it in other cities in the country. The production company is also planning to release the film in blu-ray disc and in DVDs later.

The mega serial Thirumathy Selvam which is being telecast on Sun TV at 1.30 PM on weekdays has been shifted to prime time slot. This serial will be telecast at 8.30 PM due to good viewership and good TRP rating. The teleserial features Abitha, Sanjeev, Vadivukkarasi, Birla Bose, Tinku, Ramachandran and Ceylon Manohar among others.

D Imman has scored the music for a song penned by Yughabharathi. Kumaran has penned the story and screenplay is by V K Amritharaj and Amalraj. S Kumaran is directing this tele serial.
