‘Rain Rain Go away’ – Kollywood says so

Climatic conditions are always contrastive for film industries and lay people. When there is a good sunlight, there are people saying it’s unbearably hot and what those who are filming would say? ‘Awesome, we’ve a good lighting’. So, when clouds are showering their heavy downpour it’s gonna be a merry time for lay people while a disastrous one for film units. Just imagine the great sets erected by art directors in outdoors for shooting and other unit members like Mani Rathnam’s bilingual project teaming up with short scheduled call sheets.

And now due to unbearable heavy flooded rainfall, shooting of around 40films has been called off. Some of them are ‘Adhi Narayana’, Sathyaraj’s ‘Sangamithra’, K T Kunjumon’s home production ‘Kadhalukku Maranam Illai’, Raghava Lawrence starrer ‘Rajathi Raja’, T P Gajendran’s ‘Magane En Marumagane’ and Odum Megangale’.

The entire film units are really distressed about the continuous downpour….

Rajnikanth done, now it’s Kamal for Kavithalaya

Be it successes or failures, nothing seemed to have an impact on Kavithalaya Productions owned by ace director K. Balachandar. It was a dream for K. Balachandar and his daughter and son-in-law to produce a film for his protégés Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan. Well, their dreams of featuring Rajnikanth were fulfilled with ‘Muthu’ that turned to be a great blockbuster all across the World. Nevertheless, it wasn’t their fault of ‘Kuselan’ turning to be a great disaster for them in box office. And now, the production is so keen in churning out a film for Kamal Haasan.

Speaking on this, K. Balachandar’s son Kandasamy says, “We wanted to make a film for Kamal Haasan that’ll get him for a world class show as Muthu did for Rajnikanth. At present, Kamal Haasan is working on a script and sooner we will be launching our venture once things are decided”.

Poo releases, Mahesh Saranya delays

It’s not just the producers and distributors who decide for films’ releases and monsoon too has a great role in doing so. Earlier Poo had some troubles in getting released since one of the directors had registered a case against. However, with the issues settled down the film is releasing all over the places. On the contrast, Mahesh Saranya Mattrum Palar that was sure to get released with good centres has been shelved from the release.

The reason may sound ridiculous, but you have to believe it. Producers of the film, Cool Productions have stated that with many parts of Tamil Nadu flooded with heavy rains, the audiences wouldn’t make their way to theatres and so it would a drop in collections for the first week. As everyone knows, on the fourth day pirated videos of the film will be available in stores, they have delayed the film’s release for 4-5days ahead. So, it’s gonna be Poo Vs Ellam Avan Seyal on tomorrow.
