Directors – turning-actors is no new trend in Tamil cinema. However, in the recent past there are few directors, who have taken to acting for a different reason.

Yesteryear heroine Kasthoori has finally consented to appear in a song sequence. The girl with cute looks had acted opposite several prominent heroes in 1990s including Prabhu, Vijayakanth among others. Having established a name for herself, she chose to stay away from movies for a while.

Yesteryear hero Prabhu has settled down to do character roles and characters with substance. Son of thespian Sivaji Ganesan, Prabhu had been part of over a hundred films as hero.
