Love whole heartedly says Siva Kumar

Actor Siva Kumar while speaking recently in a college function said, “I have acted with 85 heroines and tied the holy knot more than 150 times. But I live with only one wife. Had I wished I could have loved at least 50 girls. I did not have any vices when I was acting in films. You should also be virtuous like me. You should love with wholeheartedness not for physical pleasures.

You should love for five years and marry with parent’s approval. Do not forget the parents who struggled for you, when you get a job. English is necessary for one’s life and job but at the same time don’t forget your mother tongue Tamil. Don’t forget Tamil and love for your country when you go abroad.”

Director Swami says that giving tax exemption to the films titled in Tamil is not significant

The controversial director Swamy who directed films like Uyir and Mirugam is currently directing a film Saritharam. The shooting of the film is taking place in Pollachi. While speaking to the media at the shooting spot he said,” Tax exemption for the films with Tamil title is welcome but at the same time the essence is lost if the film has dialogues and songs with English words. Cinema should be useful to the society and should also reflect the views of the society. Tax exemption should be given to film which is art oriented.

Tax exemption was granted when cinema industry faced depression. But now it is not necessary because the corporates have forayed into film industry. It is better to pay subsidy to the producers who are financially not sound. So the people in the power should rethink about the exemption and tax exemption.”

A.R. Rahman – Ever-cherishing History of Modern Day Mozart

‘Well, if you ever heard Medias ennobling this man as ‘From Rags to Riches’, that isn’t something to be considered splendiferous. He hasn’t been a man who took up music merely for his bread and butter, but had an insatiable passion for his music. Wanna know his first piece of music. ‘I played it on my four track recorder’ says Rahman. Three things that Rahman would love all the time, ‘Mother’, ‘God’ and ‘Music’. Wow! It’s an extraordinary combo of Mantras. When we’ve pudden-headed actors appearing on the screens of uttering punch dialogues, they aren’t to speak about, Rahman stunned everyone with it. ‘A Man of Word and Action’ – Would this be an apt title for this man? Of course, he deserves it. Rahman started his musical journey at the age of 11 when he trained as a keyboardist. Rahman went on to play for M S Viswanathan, Ramesh Naidu, Zakir Hussain, Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan and L. Shankar on world tours. Rahman obtained a scholarship to Trinity College of Music in London, where he graduated with a degree in Western classical music.

Getting back to Chennai, he established a small studio at Kodambakkam where he composed jingles for all various commercial ads mostly made by Rajiv Menon. Some of them were prominently, the ‘Nutrine – Aasai’ chocolates, ‘Parry’ Sugar, Leo Coffee that had Aravind Swamy and Deepa Venkat starring in it.

Music Director Mahesh of ‘Nammavar’ fame was supposed to score music for ‘Roja’ while he recommended Rahman to Manirathnam. And then, it was no turning back as the young lad continually tuned up spellbinding melodies for Mani Rathnam, Shankar, Rajiv Menon, Kathir and more.

Ram Gopal Varma who penned the basic story for ‘Thiruda Thiruda’ was fascinated with his musical score and fleeted him to Bollywood with his ‘Rangeela’… Of course, Filmmaker Shekar Kapoor was by his side in supporting him. Indeed, he was the one who introduced him to Western Countries with his ‘Bombay Dreams’.

From ‘Roja’ to ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, Rahman has stood so devoted to his music and there isn’t any pinch of prideful act we see in him.

Rajiv Menon says, ‘He is something more than a music director to me. He’s a good human being.. When he was offered to score music for the film, he was nervous telling me ‘Whether Can I do this?’ He has made it bigger today in World Cinema’.

Hindi Filmmaker Madhu Bandarkar – “Rahman has created History in the pages of Indian Cinema’.

Kamal Haasan – “Oscars isn’t something big for us Indians. Now, we must keep working more higher with good potentials for reach”.

Vivek – “At one part of the World where our Tamilians are getting killed, Rahman has made us elated”

Madhavan – “Slumdog Millionaire shouldn’t have been the film for Oscars. It should’ve been his first film itself”.
