Vijay came out folding his hands from his house and entered the Kalyana Mandapam where media channels were gathered. Oops! The 50 members parked the vehicle outside and the entire road was blocked leading bottleneck situation in traffic congestion. Immediately, the passers on roadside started shouting, ‘What does he think? Only he celebrates his birthday and why he is obstructing our work…’ Finally, his manager PT Selva Kumar mismatched the words saying, ‘Next Vijay will flee to Vadapalani Murugan Temple and offer shirts and dhotis free of cost. Those media channels interested can join them (He wanted to say ‘can cover the event’ and media professional presumed that he’s asking to join the poor and needy for free shirts and dhotis).

Is it necessary that he must celebrate his birthday at this point of crucial time where Eelam Tamilians are suffering without food and water.

Much more interesting weekend it would! Trust us, there are whole lot of releases that will score brownie points over here in Multiplexes. With multiplex issues running between owners and producers of Bollywood, there weren’t any Hindi releases. As well, there were no happening Hollywood flicks. But now, it’s completely contrastive as Multiplex owners are so excited about the situations turning favorable for them.

On Friday 26, ‘Terminator Salvation’ releases with more prints not just in Multiplexes, but in various single screens. On the pars, Yash Raj Films gets on for a grand release of ‘New York’ starring John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. The Tamil releases are unparalleled with exceptional themes; Director Samuthirakkani’s ‘Nadodigal’ and Ananda Narayanan’s ‘Vaalmiki’.

More and more remakes from Hindi, Telugu and Tamil film industry. When Prabhu Deva is busy on his last schedule of ‘Wanted Alive or Dead’ (Pokkiri Remake) with Salman, Aayesha Talkia, Murugadoss is planning to remake ‘Ramana’ with Shah Rukh Khan. On the pars, Aamir Khan is looking out for K.S. Ravi Kumar’s ‘Varalaaru’ to be remade in Hindi.

Precisely, there is whole lot of Telugu projects getting ready for Tamil. Ravi Teja-Ileana-Shaam starrer ‘Kick’ has been sold out to ‘Jeyam’ Company over here. ‘Ready’ – family entertainer will have Dhanush herein remake with Genelia starring him opposite in female lead. Buzzes are that Ajith Kumar’s ‘ASAL’ is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘Race’.

Apart from these happening projects, Gowtham Menon has been holding discussions with Soundarya Rajnikanth of Orcher Studios of remaking ‘Vetaiyadu Vilaiyaadu’ in Hindi with Amitabh Bachchan in lead. On the buttons, there are more multi-lingual films ready to strike the screens sooner; Kandasamy (Telugu titled as ‘Mallanna’), Raavana (Hindi, Tamil and Telugu), Endhiran (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and other foreign languages).

Actor Vikram seems to really regretting for longer gaps he naturally took between each of his flicks. Now, he’s on the set of fixing things right. Vikram has completed shooting for his magnum opus ‘Kandasamy’ and already on the heels of finishing yet another flick ‘Raavan’ of Mani Rathnam simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil. Meanwhile, buzzes were that he’s shooting for K.S. Ravi Kumar’s film on the pars.

‘Mamma Mia’ – Sounds quite famous indeed, right? Aye! The most happening comedy flick of Hollywood has been grabbed with the title for a stage play based on the musical sensation of ABBA hits. Choreographed by Jeffrey Vardon, Varalakshmi daughter of Sarath Kumar staged the play at Green Park Hotel, here in Chennai. The Group of Hot Shoe Entertainment has its centre at O2 Health Studio situated in various parts of Chennai, including Nungambakkam. Adyar and Mogappair.

The stage play’s theme is all about a daughter going in search of her father with the help of mother’s diary that speaks about three most important men in her life. On the occasion, Sarath Kumar said, ‘Cinema took off for a greater flight from stage Plays and now I’m really thrilled to witness stage plays getting on for a greater realms…’

Looks like there may be no opportunity for Ajith fans to see their Thala in real action in the country anytime now. It is learnt that the Ultimate Star’s current project, ‘Asal’, will be shot completely in foreign locations…
