CM Launches ‘Nee Indri Naan Illai’ Movie [Gallery]
Despite the severe cash losses that the entertainment tax waiver for Tamil titles has caused, there is no idea to revoke it, clarified chief minister Karunanidhi. He stated this at the launch of the film Nee Indri Naan Ilaai, a film featuring Uday Kiran and Meera Jasmine, directed by Ilavenil. The film is based on Kalaignar’s novel, “Suruli Malai”, and has him penning the story, screenplay and dialogues.As the case with his earlier film, Ulliyin Osai, the chief minister clarified that his remuneration for the flick would go the welfare of the artistes at the Nadigar Sangam.The film was launched at the AVM Studios on Sunday. Attending the launch were actors Vivek, Suriya, Sivakumar, music composer Deva, producer AVM Saravanan and FEFSI President VC Guhanathan, apart from Ulaga Nayakan Kamal Haasan, who called Kalaignar and his film dialogues his gate pass to enter Kollywood.
