Star-casts: Pa. Vijay, Sri Devika, Jeevan and others
Production: Pa. Vijay
Direction: Jeevan
Music: James Vick
Story, Screenplay, Dialogues and Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
The film opens with Pa. Vijay on his reading note ‘This is a film based on the last pages of my Friend Kathiravan’s personal diary. He had an unaccomplished wish to be gifted for his girlfriend Meera who married someone else now due to her parents urging.’
Pa. Vijay himself enacts the role of Kathiravan an aspiring young lyricist who comes to Chennai seeking for an opportunity in tinsel town. He falls in love with a Marwadi Girl Meera (Sri Devika) and they go through the journey of extreme romancing. But unfortunately, Meera is forced to marry a guy from her caste and she flees to Haridwar. Years later, Kathiravan wins the National Award and he heads to visit Meera. But she isn’t aware that he’s come to visit her for the last wish to be accomplished.
Watch the unexpected climax that will soak your eyes with tears.
Pa. Vijay has done a prodigious job on multi-tasked vistas of script, screenplay, dialogues, and lyrics as well performing with more efficiency. Meera on the pars does justice to her role and doesn’t slip out of her characterization. The film is patently based on the narration style ‘Rain Coat’ directed by Rituparno Ghosh starring Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. The encounters of Kathir and Meera on a rainy day are merely based on similar scenario.
Musical score by James Vick could’ve better and few songs should’ve been removed. ‘Gnayabagam Illayo En Thozhi’ is a mesmerizing number. Director Jeevan fails to impress us with technical aspects and the visuals look so glary in many portions. Screenplay by Pa. Vijay is quite impressive, but the next-to-last minutes of the film is more dragging.
On the whole, ‘Gnyabagangal’ is a good piece of show by Debutant Pa. Vijay who enthralled us with his lyrical lines.
Bottom – Line: Heart-touching tale
Verdict: Average film
The shooting of the film Thambivudayan is over and is ready for release this month. The film is produced by Maheswari Raja under the banner A Productions. Raja Mahesh is directing this film. He said,” The film is ready for release. I have planned to release this film at a time when Kaveri issue is going on. Since I belong to Thanjavur, I know very well about the Kaveri problems.
The story is about the students who solve the Kaveri problem which the politicians and the government officials are not able to. The hero Adhitya dons the role of a college student leader. Manisha Chatarjee pairs with him. This film has all the commercial ingredients though the film speaks about the people’s problem.”
Kajol Agarwal’s sister Nisha is debuting as heroine in a Tamil film. Kajol Agarwal had acted in Bomallattam, Palani and Saroja. Now her sister will also act in a Tamil film. Speaking about this her father Agarwal said,” It is only the Tamil cinema that gave an identity to my daughter Kajol. Though she had acted in Telugu films , it is only in Tamil cinema she became popular.
A few people from Tamil cinema had requested my second daughter Nisha to act in Tamil film. She has also agreed. Talks are going on with regard to this. At the same time Nisha has also been signed to act in a Telugu film.’
Actor Vinay is acting in a Telugu film. He said,” It is a fact that the film Modhi Vilayadu is over delayed. But there are reasons for this. Many leading actors are acting in this film. Because of the call sheet problems this film got delayed. Moreover director Saran has sculpted each frame like a sculptor. Because of this post production work got delayed. This is the first time I am dubbing for my film so I took some time to dub.
Because of all these factors the film got delayed. Now the film has come out really well. I am happy about this. I think this film will be released this month. I am currently acting in a Telugu film. This film is yet to be titled. In Tamil, the shooting of the film Nootruku Nooru is to commence soon. I am reducing my weight to act in this film.”
