During the first week of October 2007 a confrontation happened in a village on the outskirts of Madurai in the presence of the entire unit and public who were watching the shoot. This incident has created shockwaves and Padmapriya has launched a complaint with the Nadigar Sangam who has put a ban on the shoot of the film. Padmapriya who was very upset said that it was harassment at workplace. For no fault of mine, Swami flared up and slapped her. This news made headlines throughout the country which made the association ban the director for a year.

Now after a period of 8 months paying heed to Swami request that the ban on him should be reconsidered, directors association has lifted it. Following this, Swami whose hands were crippled for the past six months, is now gearing up to start his next project. His forthcoming venture would be based on a forgotten village sport.
